Lokhorst: "Werkgevers moeten er voor zorgen dat bouwvakkers gezond kunnen werken. Dat kan door warme werkkleding, door het regelmatig houden van pauzes en door bijvoorbeeld een werkplek/steiger af te schermen met zeil. Maatregelen waardoor je met de kou nog kan werken. Maar zoals gezegd, is de gevoelstemperatuur -6 of is de bouwplaats onverantwoord glad, dan kan er niet gewerkt worden." CNV Vakmensen krijgt de informatie over gevoelstemperatuur van een aantal (onafhankelijke) weerstations.

"Als het werk stil ligt door kou, heeft dit geen financiële consequenties voor werknemers", aldus Lokhorst: "Oftewel: werknemers krijgen hun salaris gewoon doorbetaald, hoe lang de kou ook duurt. Daar zijn duidelijke afspraken over gemaakt." Werknemers die door hun werkgever worden gedwongen om toch aan het werk te gaan, moeten direct contact opnemen met de bond.

However, more than 2.1 million individuals were treated in U.S. emergency departments for ladder-related injuries from 1990 through 2005, according to a study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine.

“Increased public health initiatives that target men and women, especially of working age, could help reduce the number of ladder-related injuries.”

During the 16-year study period, the number of ladder-related injuries increased by more than 50 percent. Nearly 10 percent of injuries resulted in hospitalization or transfer to another hospital, approximately twice the admission rate of consumer product-related injuries overall, according to the research.

The Fatigue Calculator forecasts the likelihood of fatigue over a 24-hour period. Based on Prior Sleep Wake Algorithm, it is a international fatigue assessor that is legally and scientifically defensible; and is endorsed by Centre for Sleep Research and the University of South Australia.

This is the corporate version of the Fatigue Calculator and requires a user name and password from www.fatiguecalculator.com.au. Once you have registered, data can be sent to the listed email address and the Fatigue Manager reporting system. Registering usernames and passwords is $24.95. De wetten zijn gegroepeerd per rechtsgebied en regelingtype, maar uiteraard kunt u ook vrij zoeken of op wetnaam en artikel. De uitspraken zijn op rechtsgebied en jaar te doorzoeken. Daarnaast kunt u binnen uitspraken ook vrij, op LJN, op vindplaats en op zaaknummer zoeken. U kunt in de app een dossier aanmaken en de gevonden wet of uitspraak direct opslaan.

Beste lezer,
Als bezitter van een iPhone 3GS (en binnenkort iPhone 4S) ben ik een fervent gebruiker van Apps die te maken hebben met mijn hobby's of mijn werk (adviseur op het terrein van arbeidsomstandigheden en veiligheid).
Naast mijn werk/adviesbureau ben ik privé/hobby-matig actief met diverse digitale (Arbo)zaken als sociale media (o.m. @ArboStartpagina , @Arbeidshygiene en @StartVeilig), websites, nieuwsbrieven, discussiefora en video om het bewustzijn te vergroten en de zorg voor Arbo & Veiligheid te stimuleren. Een soort maatschappelijke 'drive' dus...
Uit een van de discussiefora die ik volg (Email verzendlijst IAVM-L) kwam onlangs de vraag of mensen handige Apps rondom Arbo en Veiligheid in gebruik hadden. Nou, die heb ik; zelf heb ik een stuk of 10 Apps in gebruik en daarnaast nog een lijstje van ongeveer 65 Apps die ik ooit wil gaan testen.
Dat is in mijn eentje eigenlijk niet te doen.
Vandaar dat ik mijn lijstje van Arbo en Occupational Health & Safety Apps de komende maanden, iedere dag, één voor één toevoeg aan dit blog http://arbo-ohs-apps.blogspot.com (sneller te vinden via http://www.iArbo.nl)
